Not being funny, but do you know that there are over ten million websites out there that aim to give you ideas on how you can make money. If you type in “make money ideas” in Google you’ll see what I mean. On this site, we will probably end up being one of the ten million, however if you’re looking for ways that you can earn extra cash, then we are slightly different in that unlike all the other websites, we aren’t really selling anything.
We don’t hype on products that can make you money, we don’t sell ebooks or anything like that. All we do is present ideas that can be used by you to think more about innovative ways that you can make money in your life, get that extra cash for whatever you may need it for, but without changing you life drastically or following a program laid out by someone who has no idea what it is to be in your shoes.
I’m badmouthing anyone. When I speak about them not being in your shoes, I am simply saying, they don’t actually know what your life consists of. It’s all well saying, “yes you can earn £500 for a few minutes work”, it’s true you can eventually, but do you know how much effort you will need to put in, in order to get that kind of return. Trust me, it can ramp up to hours per day. I know of a really cool guy who explains to people how they can make money online, from various business ventures, and to be truthful, this guy makes tons and tons a money a month time, but do you know that he spends up to 16 hours a day working on his business!
To be fair, he’s cut back a little because his health is suffering as a result. What’s the point if you can’t enjoy the money you make. Gladly he’s able now to spend more time having fun with his family, but you know that’s now. If he hadn’t put in the work, he’s still be hard at it all day every day. So imagine your life? Have you got that time to spare? With the kids, the partner, keeping the house in shape, maybe you work full time as well, do you really have the time to spend trying out other peoples make money business ideas, or do you need to find a way of getting extra cash that fits in with how your life runs? Only you can say.
This is no make money site. There are plenty of those around. This site is about using your own common sense, the sense that God gave you to think about ways that you can build on what you already have to make yourself more comfortable. So ask yourself the question, what do I need the extra cash for?
Is is short term, do I just need a bit extra to pay a bill? If that’s the case, contact the people you owe and ask them for a bit more time in which to pay the bill. That may seem flippant, but I assure you, the number of people who are out there who panic if a bill comes in and they don’t have the extra cash to pay it, because maybe an emergency purchase had to be made and that messed up the monthly household budget a little. We all have that from time to time.
If you’re situation is a little more serious, for instance you’re finding that at month end, you are short of the required money that you need in order to clear your monthly outgoings, then you know that if the situation carries on, you going to eventually get deeper and deeper in debt. This is a situation that is undesirable, but I would hazard to advise that you don’t think about getting credit in order to sort that problem out. Credit (loans, credit cards etc) is expensive money. The banks and credit card companies aren’t there to help you out when you’re ina bind. They are just short of extortionists who are friendly when times are good, but as we’re seeing RIGHT NOW globally with the credit crunch, when times get bad, they look after themselves. Demanding you repay your borrowings, and will pull the rug from under your feet as soon as look at you.
People, we need to get wise and realize that we have to find ways to earn extra cash through our own resources. We need to understand money making vehicles for what they are. Understand that if someone is offering you a chance to make money, it’s because they are also going to make money. This is how it’s always been, it’s the way of the world.
The only people who will give you money without expecting to make money as well are people who are buying your expertise. You have something they don’t have so they need your service in order to make that thing that they need to happen, happen.
Look into your own life and check out if you see what I mean. The washing machine is going, you’re busy making dinner, all of a sudden you hear a hugh chud, then the sound of gushing water. You look into the laundry room and there’s water everywhere. The washing machine has broken down. You switch of the water supply and you do what? Well unless you’re a washing machine engineer yourself, you call one to see if they can fix the problem. Chances are they have some sort of plumbing knowledge. You call the engineer, he/she comes out and fixes the machine. You pay them. You’ve made no money from them, but they have from you. They had something that you needed and because they fixed your problem you happily (or grudgingly) paid up.
Where am I going with this? Bear with me, you know eventually I get to the reason for this post, which is after all supposed to be about giving you ideas to make you money. Whilst talking to a good friend of mine this morning, she told me that she was going to take a course to qualify as an electrician. She wants to move to a different country. Now although she’s highly intelligent and knows what she’s doing and has years worth of experience in her current profession, she feels that she needs to get a trade qualification that will help her to move to a different country and will help to open doors.
The country she wants to move to has a need for electricians and pays well for that type of work, but unfortunately, to me, I feel she’s missing a trick. Yes, the trade qualification will help to open doors and may indeed make her expatriation to the new country much easier, however, what of the knowledge and experience that she has gained over the past 15 years in the industry in which she has been working. That knowledge is going to waste is it not?
Although I would never advise against gaining extra qualifications, I would definitely advocate using your current skills, knowledge and experience to gain you the extra income that you need and deserve. The thing you need to do is capitalise on that experience. Find people who need the information that is in your head. If you know all about gardening, there are loads of people out there who don’t and who want that information, so why not set yourself up as a gardening consultant.
If you know lots about working with children, surely you could pass on this knowledge to others who may be just starting out working with children. Think about it, what you know is common sense to you, it’s not to others. You can make money passing on your knowledge, teaching others either through doing, i.e. as a teacher or workshop leader, or through talking or writing.
Do you know one of the highest paid career opportunities is to be a consultant. Do you know what consultants do? If not, stand by for our series on how to make money as a consultant, you’ll be amazed! The truth is, most consultants don’t actually do anything, and they get paid lots of money for exactly that.
Another example of how to make money? Do you know that most people in the UK could cook in the 50’s 60’s and 70’s but that from the 80’s onwards, the majority of people don’t know how to cook a decent meal from scratch. Why do you think TV cooks have resurged as major celebrities in the last few years, all having their own shows explaining how to cook full meals from scratch. Do you think if people in the UK could cook that there would be that requirement? In Italy the same is not the case.
This post has already gone on for long enough, so I’ll finish here with this parting thought. If you’re looking for make money ideas, you should first and foremost start at home, with yourself. Look for skills, knowledges and experiences that you have that are potential make money ideas. Look at what you do that many others cannot. Even if many others can in your environment, look at environments where many people don’t.
